Plans?
I’m giving my cars a detail by
Paint: full power wash, strip wax, clay, polish, seal over the course of two 24 hours (cure time for two coats), wax with three coats.
Chassis and undercarriage: Rinse out rust prone areas, reapply boeshield in those areas.
Interior: Griot’s Odor exterminator interior, shampoo carpet, Scotchgard carpet, clean and protect interior.
Glass: Clay/polish/seal windows.
Wheels and tires: pull wheels, wash, strip, clay, wax. Scrub tires showing any oxidation, dress.
Engine: Blow off dust, wipe down, detail.
Busy weekend, but fun and therapeutic.

I need to get on your level. I was planning on doing a good wash and wax at the self-service car wash late tonight. Haven’t clay barred in over a year and it shows... I’ll definitely be buttoning up the last bits of my stereo install, wire up a voltage gauge and maaaaaybe start tackling the gauges I still need to wire. If I get through that, interior cleaning.
I’m considering bringing a jack to the car wash and doing the wheels separately. Then I can clean the coilovers and hopefully squeeze a couple more millimeters of ride height our of ‘em

I’m detailing both rigs tomorrow. There’s literally moss growing on my truck

Griot’s offers free detailing classes I think.

Driving around a bit, the errands list is becoming irritating. I wipe down my DD weekly with a spray detailer or spray wax, and it was waxed a couple months ago. I drove the old car last Saturday, and it prefers to come out every other weekend, so it will nap this weekend.

I know I pimp out the Griot’s garage, but that’s because it’s so close and it is consistently good to me. This is seriously awesome that I haven’t used until the last year when I read about somebody else on here using it.
It massively saves time claying a car.

My own goal is to not get pulled over this weekend.

Five over max and look like an old fart. Doesn’t matter if you drive a kitted out wrx that should be driven by a flat brimmed vaping asshole.

Well I was going some multiple of 5 over and it ended poorly.

Adding to cart. Although part of me wants to go there in person.... That might be unsafe for my wallet

I’ll be there next caffeine and gasoline. You get to see cars like this.

My family moved here from Tejas and there’s a fantastically stark difference in the enforcement of speed limits. I truly appreciate it.
In Dallas I could seriously do 20-30 over and just keep up with traffic. Here doing five over seems to be the threshold for
If I want to speed I’ll do a track day or autocross.

On the plus side, my wife bought Girl Scout cookies.

My car is stuck in the service shop waiting for a diagnosis on a check engine light that threw a P0443 error. EVAP System Purge Control Valve Fault. I’m guessing the transmission service may have jostled something loose, or the control valve shit itself.
Either way, that’s downtime I’m not happy with. I had plans to go to Pick & Pull to grab some interior detailing parts for my car - driver side door panel (after getting a T30 Torx bit) and some parts for the hood latch in case it needed to be replaced.
Baaaaaah. That plan’s a total wash since I’m gonna know the final diagnosis at 1PM tomorrow. The service shop is not open on Sundays, so if they don’t manage to fix the car before closing time, I’m out a ride for Monday’s commute.

Balls... Here’s to hoping the fix is quick, easy and cheap with many sunny cloudless days these next two seasons.

Have you checked out those carport tent things that Costco is selling? Like 200-something bucks and they’re really nice and huge.

I’m in Sequim! It’s such a nice weekend and my buddy is in the area, so we decided to take a trip and this is close to where he is. Had to wait until the third ferry out of Edmonds to get on this side, too, so just barely got here around 8...

Is it just me or have there been more cops than civilians on the road tonight? There were lights going everywhere, cars pulled over everywhere. It was madness out there.

I hate it. I’m from SoCal where 20 over is expected on the freeways and cops might pull you over for obstructing traffic if you’re driving much under it. This place is ridiculous - the combination of slow pokes, n00bs, and people that drive very fast/aggressively is a recipe for disaster. Many do drive well above if they can ever get around left lane campers and avoid the potholes.

I heard Samoas are the most popular in WA, but thin mints are where it’s at. Savanah Smiles were really good, too - I wish I bought more of them.

I’m south of Seattle in Oly and I don’t drive on the five much, but when I do, I have my cc set to 63 or so and am fine in the right lanes. Lane discipline and large speed deltas are definitely an issue. They’ve really tackled the left lane cruisers and distracted driver base in the last six months though.
On your other post, I have noticed more police policing. I saw a state trooper staking out an elementary school a street up from me. Haven’t seen that before.

Going up to the Cascades to go snowshoeing with friends tomorrow morning. That’s about as far ahead as I’ve thought.

I love snowshoeing, but haven’t been able to find the time since having twins. Stay safe and have a great time!

It’s usually not quite as bad down there, though. Seattle is the mess. Olympia is just far enough out that you still get people driving like it is a rural highway (which is good). I don’t think they’ve had much success up here because it would be hard to ticket 2/3 of the cars on the road for camping.
If I have to drive at rush hour (I try to avoid it at all costs), I stay right, let people in from the right, and end up beating everyone that pushed to the left (most of them do this) to my exit. It’s insane.

I haven’t. I desperately need to widen my driveway. Shuffling cars around daily is getting really old

Yeah it breaks my heart when my wife and I look at a house that has an equally bad or worse parking situation. I got four cars gosh darnit!

Very poorly. I wish I had offered 100k over on that last house had I known how awful this would be.

It’s crazy. Customer bought a house out on Newberg Rd in Sno. House ends up being a total teardown, still listed at 300k
